crappy

Filed under: frown — kerensa @ 11:32 pm

i feel crappy.
cos ‘it’ is finally here – way overdue… but finally
not the emo or tearful kind of mood
not pain (yet) as well
but just…. crappy

tomorrow will be worse i’m sure. *brace myself for it*

well, at least it’s here. better than otherwise.

on a positive note, whitey e71 will be here tomorrow!
hopefully it will inject some excitement
and also more updates here too!

time to visit dreamland…

new gadgets!

Filed under: bliss, choo, misc fun — Tags: — kerensa @ 11:03 pm

dearest has been wanting to switch his current starhub line to singtel because the reception at his workplace is horrible. so he went in search for corporate plans and decided to buy the nokia e71 at $0.

and i asked around to confirm that e71 is an ok phone, and got quite a lot of favorable reviews!

and so… i decided to join the club. too. together with my sis & phyllis… and so… i made my IS manager help me check out whether i get the same promotion (@ $100 instead because mine will be 12 month upgrade). and the answer was yes!

presenting:

now… the tricky part is, both dearest & i ordered the white one. but because stocks are running low and dearest ordered earlier than me, he has secured the white one. and mine will be the grey one.

so i told dearest about it. and without any hesitation, dearest offered to make a swap with me! he said he is ok to take the grey one so that i can have the white. isn’t that SWEET of him?

but i have not decided. i told dearest i shouldn’t take advantage of him! especially when i didn’t need a phone in the first place!

張心傑 is my favorite contestant on the latest 星光. love his voice. he’s not handsome (in fact he’s too round!) but i think he’s quite cute (oops).

just found this performance of his today (i dun follow this season faithfully) and i love it!

i remember hearing the original version by jeff chang when i was in secondary school (hmm… sec 3 or 4?) and i loved the song so…

and i had one of my best frens teach me the words and melody – yuling, was it you? my little bird brain can’t recall things more than 10 years ago but i vaguely remember. jaslyn, you were around as well right? not sure if jackie is around though. we were at east cost park, late at night, one of those stay over night parties remember? i think we were sitting around at the hawker centre and learning the lyrics…

anyway, i hope all of you enjoy the song as much as i do.

for the sake of writing

Filed under: misc fun — kerensa @ 11:27 pm

dearest said my blog is dying. it’s been a dry spell – no updates because there’s nothing interesting to write about. no pictures to upload as well. no new songs to introduce. no interesting movies to talk about.

lots of stuff related to work – but can’t share those sensitive information. so well….
work has been crazy the past week but not exactly complaining as i’m on leave this fri!

weekends have been spent on mahjong. dearest & i are really hooked on it! today dearest even casually mentioned whether we should play with higher stakes the next time. i dun mind!

weekdays are good too. dearest has less OT now and tries to spend time with me even after work. we usually have dinner together and then go back home to have our own personal time. for me, i’m starting to watch house m.d again – woo…. love it!

looking forward to the weekend again… hopefully i’ll be doing something really interesting so that i can blog it!

saturday proposal

Filed under: bliss, chomp, choo — Tags: , — kerensa @ 7:44 am

so dearest & i spent a simple saturday afternoon together – driving in the heavy rain, followed by lunch @ ikea, followed by more driving.

dearest insists to bring me to a new place for ice cream. he would only say it’s far but refused to tell me where it is. we ended up in this place called 10 raeburn park. in case you are wondering, this is NOT a park (not the likes of labrador, east coast etc), this is a school with not a single soul around at 5pm on saturday.

after driving around the campus and failing to locate the ice cream shop, dearest drove out of the carpark (10 min grace period) and pulled over along the road outside and winded down the window.

me: what are you doing?
him: *looks at me* why, you think i am proposing to you ah?

*faint*
yea… it’s on my wish-list for 2009 but i’m not that desperate ok! i dun think abt it 24/7!
wahahahaha…

we managed to find the shop (seventh heaven) and hesitated before going in (it was empty!). we ordered chocolate & whiskey, lychee martini and green tea. the chocolate & whiskey was so-so. i hate the smell of whiskey usually but i couldn’t actually taste the whiskey in the ice-cream. couldn’t taste the alcohol in lychee martini either but it was quite good – i’ll say, the best of the 3. the green tea was quite special – there are tea leaves in the ice cream, gives a different texture to it. 3 small scoops (yea, the portion wasn’t that huge) set us back by $16… too expensive to our liking. back to udders anytime!

but thank you dearest, for researching and bringing me to new places for interesting makan! the next time, just skip the bit about proposing ok…

PS. i wanted to hyperlink my post about udders above but then i realized i’ve never blogged about it before! how can i?!? it’s the favorite ice cream place… another day… i’ll write about it another day… now, i’ll go back to sleep and maybe dream and drool of the tiramisu & maoshanwang from udders…

yippee friday…

after a long week of hard work, dearest finally had the chance to unwind a little and we went to catch the movie suspect x.

before the movie, we only had less than an hour for a quick dinner, so we went to long john silvers. the place was packed and dearest went to queue up while i try to find us seats. so i stood around this table with an indian family of 4. about 3 min later, a muslim family of 4 came in, also looking for seats. eventually they ended up standing near me.

another 3 min later, the indian family was almost ready to leave and the muslim family started to inch nearer and nearer to the table. i knew what they were trying to do but i didn’t feel like flashing my dagger eyes at them (yet). when the indian family got up, the muslim father went towards the table. i went too and told him in a neutral tone “i was here first”. he smirked and said “oh is it, got queue number ah?”. and then i flashed him my dagger eyes and prepared to take the table nonetheless. he also wanted to sit down, until the nice indian mother said “yes, she was here first”. i was still fuming, so i only managed to say a very quick thanks (and forced a smile at her) as she turned around to walk away.

damn the idiotic muslim father (this has nothing to do with racism or anything. stating the races just makes it easy for me to identify the pple involved). he thinks he is very funny ah? or he thinks this is some barbarian society where pple go around getting what they want by snatching? bloody hell. so feel like cursing him but i’ll cool it… don’t want to bring bad karma to myself over this little prick.

anyway, back to happier things. suspect x is good!

it’s a japanese murder mystery, an intelligent storyline and not draggy. also get to see how the japanese police organize various teams together to discuss the clues and actions about the case. imagine a huge classroom-like setting, with more than 40 police personnel listening to a team of lead investigators. and at the end of the session, they all stand up like school children and bow at each other. quite amusing.

the only part which i didn’t like about the movie is the way the music and sound effects used. obviously these are used to set the mood and tone, and even to dramatize the show but i didn’t appreciate them because sometimes it scares me! i mean, this isn’t a horror show, neither is it a thriller. it’s just a good old mystery which is supposed to intrigue the audience’s minds. so the sound effects are really redundant, i feel.

i won’t give anything away in case anyone of you are planning to watch it but i just want to point out that i did observe something in the show during the early and mid parts which later proved to be important. proud of myself (though i didn’t manage to guess the real reason)! hahaha…

alright… it’s the weekend! happy resting everyone!

we’ll get there… slowly but surely…

Filed under: bliss, choo, emotive — kerensa @ 11:24 pm

last fri, dearest & i had dinner with jackson & sheena. after dinner, we headed to parkway to buy business shirts.

sheena decided to show us the lovely diamond ring from Poh Heng, the one which costs $20K… i followed her into the shop and predicted that the guys will not follow (pressure!!). a short while later, dearest walked in and i took the chance to point out a simple solitaire ring to him and ‘reminded’ him that i like such designs.

to my surprise, dearest actually asked the sales guy if he could bring it out for me to try on! so i tried the 0.5 carat.

dearest: hmm isn’t it a little too big for your tiny finger?
me: i tot so at first too. but no choice! cos my mummy said it must be 0.5 carat (remember the dream?)!
sales guy: *smiled*
sheena: *LOL* good one!
dearest: *looked away sheepishly*

woohoo! i didn’t realize my mummy’s dream to me will come in handy so quickly… hehe…

and that’s not all. dearest continued to ask the sales guy how to find the right ring size for me, since i have such skinny fingers. the sales guy promptly brought out a bundle of ring sizes for me to test and voila, we found that my ring size!

now dearest have all the information he needs to buy me a priceless proposal ring! yippeeeee….

frankly speaking… i didn’t think too much about the whole episode until sheena whispered to me that she’s very happy for me.

today, dearest picked me up for dinner from my home after his first day at work.

on the way, i suddenly realized that dearest really often puts me in priority. i mean, he drove all the way from tai seng to bedok, then from bedok to holland village (just so we can buy the delicious provence sesame cheese bun), then from holland village to suntec city (to buy more business shirts and spend $40 on dinner so that i don’t have to eat from the yucky foodcourt), and finally from suntec to bedok to send me home. isn’t he a gem?

on the way home, dearest held my hand and mentioned now that he’s found a full-time job, when shall we speak to his mum about our marriage? i was pretty taken aback actually. i mean, it’s only his first day of work and he is thinking of fulfilling his promise to me already!

*touched*

baby… you know i’ll always be there for you. while i don’t deny that i’m dying to marry you, to begin another phase of our lives together and to build a sweet family together, i dun wish to give you too much pressure too. we’ll do what needs to be done when the time is right ok. as long as we are there for each other, we will get to our common destination, slowly, but surely… love.
